Helicopter transported material aid donated by MESIT to villages affected by the floods
Two weeks have already passed since the floods hit the north of the Czech Republic and caused catastrophic damage. MESIT did not hesitate to contribute humanitarian aid to the most affected regions.
MESIT approached to the regional branch of Caritas Czech Republic and offered financial help. Caritas organized a collection for the flood-affected areas and were able to ensure that the aid reached the places where it was needed the most. Almost 3 tonnes of material had to be transported by helicopter to these cut off places.
The humanitarian aid was a response to the tragic situation. However, the risk of flooding was also very real for MESIT itself. We called in a crisis team to monitor the situation on the river Morava and set up safety measures. Employees were also given a day of paid leave to put their affairs in order.
